I graduate from the University of Oregon in the UOTeach program at the College of Education with a focus on second language teaching. My love of languages and world cultures started from the moment I was born. My parents immigrated to the US from China, and I was raised in a bilingual Chinese-English environment. When business took my father to Japan for a year, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to visit him. Those travels around Japan drew me to Japanese culture and was the eventual impetus for my studies in the Japanese language. Learning languages has broadened my perspective of the world and its people. I hope to be able to share my passion for languages with my students.
In my free time I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain biking. I also love photography, traveling, and cooking. I am inspired by many different cultures in both my photography and cooking.
